On our dog walk, we didn’t get far.
Pup needed the loo, we needed a lark.
Pup needed to sit, and needed to pee,
We snuck in a kiss, pup dribbled with glee.
Pup ran for the ball, then left it behind,
Pup crawled under walls–no reason or rhyme.
We howled at the moon, and bathed in the sun,
Mileage immune, we’d gone barely one!
Pup jumped in the pond, then rolled in the dirt,
Magnanimous paws — mud over our shirts.
Pup grizzled, and growled, ineffably curious,
To nowhere we’re bound, isn’t it glorious?
