Burn barbecue, let me savour the news,
The sun is in season, the flowers in bloom.
The beaches are teeming, there’s camping and fete’s,
And soon I’ll be leaving on my holiday!
Everyone’s so attractive, their skirts and their shorts.
With sport and such dancing, how could I be bored?
Some summer romancing, and blockbuster games,
Plus swimming, and mooning, in natural lakes.
The smoke is a wafting, I smell the flambé,
That crackle and popping, oh heavens be praised!
I’m feeding my people, they’re feeding my soul,
What could be better? I shall never know.
